Recycling at Work, a campaign of the National Office Paper Recycling Project, in partnership with four of its sponsors (Canon U.S.A., Inc.; Hewlett-Packard Company; Lexmark International, Inc.; and The Document Company Xerox) has developed a full color brochure on toner cartridge recycling.

The brochure provides information on how to recycle empty toner cartridges, where to recycle the cartridge, what is done with the materials that are returned to the manufacturer, and sponsor companies’ contact information for further inquiries. This brochure is useful not only to local governments, but also to businesses and organizations.

Toner Cartridge Recycling is easy, free and good for the environment! Canon, HP, Lexmark, and Xerox have step-by-step mailing instructions and shipping labels included with all new cartridge boxes. When your toner cartridge get emptied, just use the box containing the new toner cartridge and send the empty cartridge back to them. Most toner manufacturers will even pay for the shipping of the return of your used cartridge by mail. Some manufacturers wil arrange for pick-up of larger amounts of used cartridges.
